Fairy Crystal and the Really Big Lie is a modern fairy tale which explores whether telling lies can ever be a good thing. Fairy Crystal tells lots of lies and, every time she tells one, a fairy dies. But, when faced with telling a lie to save the colony, or telling the truth to save herself, what will Fairy Crystal do? The play also uses gentle humour to address other issues, such as friendship, loyalty and community spirit. Although simple to stage, Fairy Crystal and the Really Big Lie has the potential for creative impact through imaginative costume and make-up design.
