The story is based on early Jewish literature naming Adam’s first wife as Lilith, not Eve. Lilith was created by God alongside Adam and it was only after a sexually charged conflict between Lilith and Adam that God created Eve. 'Paradise Left' is an alternative to Genesis as we know it, with bawdy innuendo, a healthy sprinkle of angels, demons and office politics, and a guest appearance by Lucifer.
