Clive Wilson and his partner Barry run Audiomagic, an audio production company producing ‘talking books’ - primarily for the children’s market. Clive is surprised, but intrigued, when he gets a phone call from a renowned sex therapist asking him if he would like to produce an ‘adult’ audio book. Barry is definitely not keen on the idea when he learns that it is to be an audio version of an erotic novel - aimed at women - but Clive decides to go ahead with the project. They meet the novelist and start to produce the script. Clive has misgivings too when the client (the ‘Pervy Prof’ according to Barry) insists that sound effects are recorded live. Nevertheless he presses on, even though he has another children’s CD to complete at the same time. Meanwhile, Barry gets a call from an old client, Heather, who runs Tinyyots Tales. She is thinking about asking Audiomagic to produce a new series of children’s CDs. Things begin to fall apart for Clive when he proudly plays Heather what he thinks is ‘Kidnapped’ - his latest children’s CD - only to find it is actually the ‘adult’ CD. Worse still, the lead part on ‘Pleasure Island’ - the erotic audio book - is played by Heather’s budding actress daughter. Then the disastrous significance of the mix up strikes Clive: he has sent the cassettes off for duplication...
