About the Writer
Earl has been writing since the second grade when he wrote a play about three pumpkins for the class Halloween party. (Alas, the play has been lost to the past.) For decades he has written short fiction and only recently returned to writing plays. Working with fellow playwrights at the Foothill College’s Playwright Program, Earl has seen four of his short plays produced in festivals in Santa Cruz Actors’ Theatre’s Eight Tens @ Eight Festival (The Duel - 2009, Some Are Meant to Sit -2010), Fire Rose Production’s 10-Minute Play Festival (A Knight's Dragon - 2010), along with productions in the Short + Sweet festivals of Singapore, Auckland, New Zealand, and Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, Australia (The Fruits of War - 2009 & 2010). Earl continues to work on short plays while wrestling with two full length plays he hopes to have completed strongly enough for staged readings. He now also works with the playwrights of PlayCafe, Berkeley, CA and a secretive group of playwrights in Santa Cruz, CA. |
