Moesha Wrubel survived Krystallnacht, the burning of the Warsaw Ghetto and the uprising at Treblinka Concentration Camp. After the end of WWII, he imagrated to the United States. In 1950 he went to Israel to be with other survivors of the Holocaust. After returning to the United States, he started lecturing on World War II and the Holocaust.
In the Monologue, Moesha is about to lecture to a group of students at a university and is in a dressing room back stage of the lecture hall waiting to be introduced. He sits at a table with a mirror and seeing his reflection, he reflects on his life.
