The Hostage Heart is a contemporary drama that deals with a father’s dilemma when he receives a ransom note stating that his contentious teenage son will be killed unless the father himself is dead within two weeks. The father imagines various scenarios based upon who sent the note and what he decides to do about it. In addition to the family conflicts, the play deals, more abstractly, with love/life struggles and the connection between the rational and intuitive capacities of its characters.
