DOOR. Three Acts. 19 M (one non-speaking), 14 W (Five non-speaking). A large tall door angled on the hypotenuse of the stage is present in each act. Act Two has a bed, table and chair with a typewriter. Scene 2 of Act Two has a vanity dresser and a bed. In Door, an eclectic group of people come across the familiar object of a door, but in an unfamiliar setting. The group members include a wide variety of distinct personalities: a drunk, an old man on a mission, a group of gum-chewing cheerleaders, two delinquents, a young couple, a religious figure, an archeologist, and a photographer and his model. Their individual reactions illustrate that people tend to see what they want to see, even when their perceptions are not in synch with reality and highlight the differences between individual value systems.
