Prom King & the Fiancée: One Act. 3M / 2W. Ages are open. One woman was going to be a Bride and the other is engaged, the Fiancée. Women 20s-30s, (40s would add another element). Two of the men, Harold and the Prom King / Football Player could be 20s-30s and Paul, the Homeless man, should be older than the other two. Simple set: urban side street, an alley, piles of assorted trash, a box or two, and a metal barrel. Prom King & the Fiancée explores relationships and values – how little people really know about the essence of their intended mate and close friends and how values are often skewed to frivolity, rather than substance. In a series of offbeat encounters among off-the-wall characters during an evening’s stroll, people change. In what on the surface appears to be pure whimsy, these wacky characters reevaluate, restructure, and move their lives in new directions.
