About the Writer John Dwyer, born in London in 1964, has been involved with theatre performance for over 20 years. His previous work includes working with local communities, Talkback Productions Television Company, as well as acting in theatre. It was during his time at Huddersfield University, however, that writing and directing became his main focus and he went on to complete his MA in Writing for Contemporary Performance, 2007-8. From 2008-10 he lectured in drama at the University of Huddersfield.
John has written and directed for conferences, the National Student Drama Festival, as well as written adaptations of Romeo and Juliet, which toured nationally in 2010 and The Great Gatsby to be toured in 2012. His first play, Making Ugly, was the original inspiration for the film of the same name which is due for release in the spring of 2011. |
