About the Writer I have been involved in Amateur Drama since 1982, when I joined the Loch Leven players in Kinross. Later I moved house, left the Players, and joined Leslie Amateur Drama Club, of which I am currently a member.
For years I scribbled short stories. I finally had one published in an anthology of Scottish stories: ‘Days like this.’ After this, to me, dizzy success, and on an impulse, I enrolled in an OU course, ‘Start writing plays’
So far I have written three plays: 'Day Return, 'The Waiting Room, and 'Citizen of the Year. The Waiting Room was performed at the Scottish Community Drama One Act Festival in 2008 and was well received by audience and invigilator alike.
Although ‘The Waiting Room’ is described as a Black Comedy, it is really more a gentle shade of grey. I live in the coastal town of Kirkcaldy in Fife with my wife, and my laptop. I am retired, and both my children have long since flown the nest. |
