| ALI THE BARBER AND THE FORTY THIEVES |
 |
| Written by Simon Paul |
Long, long ago in old Baghdad lived a humble Barber called Ali. But one day, Ali got mixed up in a plot by the evil Captain Forty to make himself the richest man alive through cornering the myrrh market.
Will Ali save the day? Probably.
Although certain parts have been suggested as being for male, female or either sex, there is total flexibility. Indeed, the play could be performed as a straight comedy, if you'll excuse the oxymoron?
In scene 4, a song should be used. The notes in the script do mention this but at the time of uploading to this site, permission had not been received from the copyright holder to reproduce the lyrics. Hopefully, permission will be forthcoming and anyone who purchases this version will receive the updated versions and when.
The script has yet to be performed so please feel free to get in touch should you wish to seek my views on production ideas. As it has not been performed yet, the timing is estimated and based on there being a short interval.
Enjoy!
