Five scenes follow the course of a relationship. 1. The first meeting. 2 The first date. 3. The consumation. 4. A visit to a concert. 5. The final parting. The lovers are continually picking away at each other's feathers, hence the title. It is part of a quartet of plays which also include Peace, Clownes and Earwigs.
